Children and paediatric care
Dr Nalla holds an MSc Med in paediatric neurodevelopment from the University of the Witwatersrand. Children are seen in the same rooms, with the same integrative approach and appropriate care taken over dosage and technique.
A child presenting with headaches, seizures, tics or a developmental concern is assessed for neurodevelopmental causes, and referred to a paediatric neurologist where that is what the case needs.
A neurodevelopmental presentation in a child is investigated conventionally first. Homeopathic treatment, where it is used, follows that assessment rather than replacing it.
Before the appointment
Bringing a child to an appointment
The practical questions parents ask us on the phone, answered here instead.
What to bring
Any medication or remedies your child is currently taking, the clinic card or immunisation record, and any previous test results or specialist letters you have.
How long to allow
A first appointment for a child takes longer than an adult follow up, because the history covers pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep and development.
Whether both parents come
One parent or guardian is enough, provided they can consent to treatment. Where the history is split between two households, it helps if both can contribute it.
Acupuncture and children
Yes, acupuncture is available for children, and it is done with a laser rather than with needles. Most children are frightened of needles, so the same points are treated with a low intensity laser held against the skin. Nothing pierces the skin and there is nothing sharp to see.

Book for a child
Send your child's age and what you would like them seen for, and we will come back to you with a time and how long to allow.
